Few companies that remain competitive in the market seek such advice. In Latin America, this reluctance is partly due to cultural heritage, as many business decisions are made internally, with little external consultation. By contrast, Anglo-Saxon influence in the U.S. and Northern Europe has long facilitated external consulting as standard practice.

This principle, applied by CEOs and senior executives abroad, is also followed by major industrial companies, where listening to external consultants is fundamental to maintaining competitiveness and overcoming crises.

Which Companies in Colombia Rely on Experts?

Most large companies, multinationals, and corporations hire consultants and advisors to guide them in navigating crises or macroeconomic challenges. However, only a small percentage of Colombian SMEs follow this practice, often preferring to make decisions independently, which limits their ability to achieve set goals or fully leverage their potential.
